Q1: What is the background of how they were invented?

The areola tattoo evolved after the development of another temporary tattoo product in 2000 called iBrowsers™ which is a temporary tattoo eyebrows also designed by Dorothy Kizoff.

A1: Who invented the temporary areola tattoo?

Designed by Canada’s foremost Master Medical Tattoo Artisan who specializes in medical cosmetic tattooing for breast cancer survivors.  She has helped change how women feel about themselves.

Q2: How were they invented and who invented them?

A2: The TAT was invented by Dorothy Kizoff, Canada’s Master Medical Cosmetic Tattoo Artisan who has 20 years of experience.

TAT evolved as an extension of medical cosmetic tattooing for a permanent solution to the reconstruction of nipple and areola for breasts which had been removed due to mastectomy or surgery.

Not everyone was a candidate for permanent tattooing. As well, some patients could not afford or locate a technician close to home.

Therefore the need to develop a simple, temporary, quick and inexpensive solution to mastectomy where no breast restoration surgery was performed - OR - as a compliment to breast reconstruction.

Q3: Did anyone test and evaluate them?

A3: A number of focus groups of patients were held in Toronto, Canada. Additionally, individual feedback contributed to the development of the final product.

The TAT went through a number of prototypes or generations before achieving the desired result of a nearly perfect, natural looking nipple and areola.

If you live in North America, allow 7-10 business days for delivery. If you have placed an international order it could take longer depending on the customs department in your country.
